Sonic Forces to launch on November 7th, Bonus Edition with DLC and controller skin announced

Last week, SEGA announced that Sonic Forces (the second Sonic game for 2017) would be released on November 9th in Japan. For some reason, the release date wasn’t revealed for Europe and North America at the same time, but it looks like SEGA was simply waiting for PAX West (which starts tomorrow) to make an announcement for the West.

Today, it was announced that Sonic Forces would be released on November 7th in Europe and North America, where it will cost $39.99 USD/$54.99 CAD (and presumably 39.99€ / £35.99).

But that’s not the only announcement SEGA made today. They also revealed that, just like Atlus releases at retail, Sonic Forces would get a launch edition. Called Bonus Edition, it’s available at no extra cost, and includes the following:

  1. a physical copy of the game
  2. a controller ski for the Joy-Cons
  3. the SEGA / Atlus add-on, with 13-in game outfit items and accessories:
  • Jet Set Radio: glasses and outfit
  • Persona 5: mask and outfit
  • Puyo Puyo: hat
  • Super Monkey Ball: eat and outfit
  • NiGHTS: hat and outfit

Right now, the game is available for pre-order at participating retailers, with digital pre-orders set to go live at a later date. SEGA includes the Nintendo Switch in the list of platforms getting them, even though there hasn’t been a single digital pre-order yet. More details will be shared in the upcoming weeks.

Finally, here’s a few more screenshots for Sonic Forces, as well as a glamshot of the Bonus Edition:

As a bonus, here’s one more soundtrack sample for… Sonic Mania!

Sonic Forces (Switch) comes out on November 7th in Europe and North America, and September 9th in Japan. The Upcoming Games page has been updated!
