Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment gets a trailer and some details

Fans have been waiting for the Specter Knight campaign for a while, and during the Game Awards 2016, they were finally treated with a trailer. Following the show, Yacht Club Games uploaded a longer version of the trailer, giving us a good look at Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment.

Without further ado, here’s the trailer (make sure to chose either 720p or 1080p if you want to see some glorious spectral action in 60fps!):

Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment serves as a prequel to Shovel Knight, and features the one and only Specter Knight. Besides the new story, it includes a lot more brand new content: new areas, new music, new enemies, new objects, new boss fights, new weapons, new armor, and much more (including new tricks and tactics for the bosses).

The Specter Knight’s campaign is brand new (unlike Plague of Shadows’, which simply followed an alternate parallel campaign), and tasks you with recruiting the Order of No Quarter for The Enchantress.  For more details on how the Specter Knight controls, make sure to check out this previous blog post!

Yacht Club Games explain that Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment has been built from the ground up, so that it could be a stand-alone experience (that doesn’t mean it will be a stand-alone release).

Finally, here’s a couple of artworks:
