San Diego Comic-Con: Nintendo’s line-up, tournaments
Earlier this week, Nintendo revealed its line-up for the San Diego Comic-Con, as well as various activities available at its usual Nintendo Gaming Lounge (at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina, 333 W. Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101). Unsurprisingly, Splatoon and Super Mario Maker will be the stars of the show, along with the Splatoon.
Just like the past few years, the Nintendo Gaming Lounge will be open to everyone, even those without a Comic-Con Pass (which isn’t the case of Nintendo’s booth proper on the showfloor, where it’s required). It will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on July 9-11 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 12. But if you’re interested in amiibo, it’s the Nintendo booth that you will have to go to (all already released and upcoming amiibo will be on display there).
At the Nintendo Gaming Lounge, fans will not only be able to try out Super Mario Maker, they will even get a special Stage Show with members of Nintendo Treehouse. That show will allow them to discover the game’s features, especially those related to level creation (which is the central element of the game, after all!). What’s more, Charles Martinet will drop by, and fans will be able to meet him (the schedule for his appearances will be revealed at a later date).
Tournaments
Nintendo will also host several tournaments in the Nintendo Gaming Lounge:
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
– a tournament for kids under 13, where the winner will be able to get a pack containing the Ness, Greninja, Jigglypuff, Charizard, PAC-MAN, Wario, Robin, Lucina and Mario – Gold Edition amiibo;
