Pokémon news (June 3rd) – Pokkén release month, Pokémon Animation Studio, more

Pokkén Tournament

It’s been quite a while since we last heard about Pokkén Tournament: it was during NicoNico Chokaigi, in April. But today, Bandai-Namco updated its official website, and in the Amusement Machine (Arcade) section, there’s a small blurb indicating that the game will launch in July. There’s no precise date, but there’s no doubt it should be announced within the next few days/weeks (most likely during a livestream).

London Animation Studio

Today, The Pokémon Company announced a special partnership with KidZania, to include a Pokémon Animation Studio in their “London edutainment experience”. It will allow children to create their very own Pokémon animations via stop-motion animation software, a select number of Tomy Pokémon figurines and some Pokémon props.

But that’s not all: during the visit, they will also get to learn more about the “fundamentals of animation within a real-life studio setting”. What’s more, the latest range of Pokémon toys from TOMY will be available at the Kidzania’s Redemption Store, which doesn’t accept real money… Actually, visitors have to use special credits earned by participating in activities such as the Pokémon Animation Studio.
