Pokémon GO news (Feb. 16): Latest Update / Team Rocket outfits

Yesterday, a brand new Software update for Pokémon GO was released: Ver. 0.91.2 on Android, and Ver. 1.61.2 on iOS. Unfortunately, it’s a pretty unexciting one, as all it brings is some bug fixes!

Pokémon GO – Team Rocket

Yesterday, the latest set of special outfits was added to the shop. It’s the Team Rocket and Team Rainbow Rocket uniforms: hat, gloves, trousers, and shirts, with both available in male and female variants. Naturally, you need to spend some precious coins to buy those!

Pokémon GO – Valentine’s Day

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Niantic decided to increase to spawn rate for Luvdisc and Chansey, and give 3 times the usual amount of stardust when players catch them. Due to server issues yesterday, the “event” was extended by 24h, and will now last until tonight, 1PM PT / 4PM ET / 9PM GMT / 10PM CET / 6AM JST.

Pokémon GO – Lunar New Year

To celebrate the Lunar New Year, a special event is currently running. Until February 17th, you will get more than the usual amount of stardust when catching the following Pokémon: Eevee, Poochyena, Growlithe, Snubbull, and Electrike. Naturally, those Pokémon will also appear more frequently, allowing you to catch them if you haven’t already.

Pokémon GO – Safari Zone

Yesterday, a new Safari Zone event was announced, and it’s for players in Taiwan! It will take place from February 26th to March 3rd, to coincide with the Chiayi Lantern Festival. During this event, the following Pokémon will spawn during the day (from 7AM): Dragonair, Unown, Dratini, Mr. Mime, and Growlithe. Also, during the night (from 5PM), Chinchou and Lanturn will start spawning.

Pokémon GO – Japan promotional event

Today, a special promotional event for Pokémon GO in Japan was announced. From February 17th to February 24th, the first 10 000 players to head to a SoftBank store in the Nagasaki, Oita, or Miyazaki Prefectures, and fill up a questionnaire, will get a Serial Code for the Android version of the game. That code can be redeemed for some freebies: 60 Poké Balls, 2 Lucky Eggs, 2 Max Revives, and 1 Lure Module.
