Passpartout: The Starving Artist is one of those indie success stories everyone loves: developed by a team of fledgling developers (a crew of university students to be precise), it went on to sell over 1 million units. And that success story is about to continue in Passpartout 2: The Lost Artist!

Releasing on October 19th in Japan (where it will be available at retail) and “soon” in Europe and North America, Passpartout 2 The Lost Artist just received a brand new trailer.

Here it is:

The Nintendo Switch version of the game will offer new ways to play with (alongside the original stick controls):

  • support for touchscreen controls for painting, complete with stylus compatibility
  • support for gyro controls

Step into the shoes of Passpartout, a once renowned artist whose glory was lost after a mysterious disappearance, and help him revive his art career. The town of Phénix is full of charming folks who can use an artist’s talents, so grab some art supplies and get ready to paint a masterpiece!

Embark on your struggling artist adventure. Draw and sell art to cheeky critics to reclaim your lost art career. Explore the endearing art-starved town of Phénix and show them you’re a true artist!
