Overcooked: Special Edition releasing this week on Nintendo Switch

Remember Overcooked: Special Edition, announced for the Nintendo Switch several months ago? Well, it’s almost ready for release. When will that release take place, you ask? Well… this week, on July 27th to be more precise! It will cost £15.99 / $19.99 / 19,99 €.

Here’s what the story of the campaign mode is all about:

The Onion Kingdom is in danger and only the finest cooking can save it. Players will journey through a campaign mode featuring a whole host of cruel and unusual kitchens on their quest to become master chefs capable of conquering an ancient edible evil which plagues the land!

But while Overcooked does have a Single Player mode, the main dish definitely is the chaotic couch co-op mode, for up to 4 players. Everyone has to work together in order to cook a range of different dishes, and good coordination is key. If there’s no coordination between players… well, we did  just say that mode was chaotic, didn’t we?

Wondering what the “Special Edition” entails? Well, for starters, it includes everything from the base game, but also the The Lost Morsel and Festive Seasoning DLC. The developers also made sure this version took advantage of one of the Nintendo Switch most iconic features… HD Rumble!

Here’s everything included in Overcook: Special Edition on Nintendo Switch:

  • 44 campaign levels which can be played solo or couch co-op with up to 4 players
  • 9 versus levels to play head to head locally with either 2 or 4 players
  • 22 different chefs to play as. Choose a human, racoon, dinosaur, French bulldog, robot or even a reindeer in your quest for culinary greatness!
  • A range of crazy kitchens to play across with different recipes to master – cook soup, burritos, burgers, fish and chips and more!

Finally, here’s a short video and a special piece of pomo art to celebrate this Nintendo Switch release:
