NIS America brinding The Longest Five Minutes to the Nintendo Switch

Yesterday, during its panel held on the very last day of the Anime Expo 2017, NIS America announced not one, but two new games for the Nintendo Switch: Penny-Punching Princess and The Longest Five Minutes, both releasing in Early 2018. What’s pretty interesting about them is that they are already available in Japan, but not on the Nintendo Switch: NIS America actually ported them specifically for the western release.

The Longest Five Minutes is a game about a pretty forgetful hero, who faces the Overlord, the origin of all evil… but suddenly loses all memories of his adventures. That includes the name of his hometown, his finishing moves, and even the very reason he’s trying to defeat the Overlord in the first place! Naturally, he has to regain those memories before it’s too late, but he doesn’t have that much time to do so!

Those memories are unlocked through onversations with your party, and each one plays out in classic 8bit RPG style. The outcome of those memories actually has an impact on the final battle: your party will be stronger or weaker. The “flashbacks” are triggered during battle by your allies, but also by the Overlord’s taunts.

Here’s the debut trailer and the overview trailer for The Longest Five Minutes:
