Nintendo Switch Sports: Golf to be added later this month; more details and footage

During the latest Nintendo Direct presentation (in September), it was announced that the second major update for Nintendo Switch Sports would be released in time for the holiday season. It will add a returning sport: Golf, which will come with 21 holes from the Wii Sports series, but also a brand new game mode.

And today, Nintendo announced that said update will be released in late November — in other words, within the next couple of weeks!

Here’s some footage of Golf in Nintendo Switch Sports:

In Nintendo Switch Sports, Golf includes 21 holes from the Wii Sports series. You have to carefully read the terrain and the wind in order to adjust the power and angle of your shot. Once you’re done, it’s time to swing your golf club using the Joy-Con controller. Naturally, the goal of the game remains unchanged: go through all the holes in as few strokes as possible!

You can use various techniques to get the ball to go wherever you want. For example, you can avoid swinging all the way through and instead stop the swing with a snap, which will give the ball a backspin.

Of course, Golf can be played online, and with up to 8 players with the new Survival Mode. In this mode, players are eliminated one by one. Whoever has the lowest score is eliminated first!

And finally, here’s a Japanese commercial for Nintendo Switch Sports, showcasing Golf:
