Nintendo Switch: sales milestones for Monster Hunter Rrise: Sunbreak and Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon-

This week, two new sales milestones for Nintendo Switch games were announced: one for Monster Hunter Rrise: Sunbreak, and one for Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon-.

First: Monster Hunter Rrise: Sunbreak. Capcom have announced that the massive expansion for Monster Hunter Rise has sold over 5 million units since launch (in June 2022). That number includes both Nintendo Switch and PC sales worlwide.

Previous milestones are as follows:

  • July 5th 2022: 2 million units
  • July 13th 2022: 3 million units
  • July 26th 2022: 3.5 million units
  • September 30th 2022: 4.4 million units
  • July 18th 2023: 5 million units

It looks like Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak has been enjoying strong and steady sales since launch, and with even more expansions coming soon (one in February, and at least another one in Spring), sales are unlikely to slow down significantly in the near future.

To celebrate this new sales milestone, a new set of free items will be released soon. Details about it will be added to this page as soon as it’s live!

In the mean time, here’s a celebratory illustration:

The second sales milestone is for Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon-. This remake of the PC Visual Novel (first released back in 2000) has also been selling well in the long run, for Type-Moon have announced that it’s now sold over 300 000 units since launch (in August 2021). That number includes retail shipments + digital sales on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 since launch (unfortunately, no platform breakdown is provided).

Overall, a pretty strong performance, especially without an English translation or a PC release! The previous milestone for the game was 240 000 units back in September 2022.
