After weeks, months, years of rumours, speculations, and anticipation, Nintendo has finally revealed the successor to the Nintendo Switch: the Nintendo Switch 2. It will launch later this year worldwide, with pricing to be announced at a later date.
Here’s the reveal trailer for the Nintendo Switch 2:
The trailer reconfirms that the Nintendo Switch 2 will play not just Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games, but also regular Nintendo Switch games (both physical and digital):
Nintendo Switch 2 plays Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games, as well as both physical and digital Nintendo Switch games. Certain Nintendo Switch games may not be supported on or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2. Details will be shared on the Nintendo website at a later date.
This trailer focuses on the Hardware and showcases some of its features. The only game shown in it appears to be a brand new Mario Kart game, though it’s not clear what it’s called or when it will be released.
If you’re looking for actual games, you will have to wait until April 2nd, when a new Nintendo Direct presentation will be livestreamed. More details will be shared at a later date, including the actual time for this presentation.
