Nintendo @ E3 2015: World Championships, Digital Event, Treehouse Live, Mario Maker @ BestBuy
A few minutes ago, Nintendo revealed its plans for E3 2015 via another video. They also updated their E3 website with some details: click here to check it out!
Nintendo World Championships 2015
Unless you’ve grown up in the 80’s and 90’s, it is quite likely you’ve never heard of the Nintendo World Championships. The good news is Nintendo is actually bringing it back for E3 2015! The tournament will have two phases:
– on May 30th, select BestBuy stores across the United States will host the qualifying tournaments. More details will be announed in the upcoming days.
– on June 14th, the tournament proper will take place at the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles.
The players competing will be the winners from each regional event, but also competitors invited from Nintendo. They will all compete in a multi-round Nintendo competition. Just like last year’s Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament, fans in Los Angeles will be able to attend the Nintendo World Championships 2015 at the NOKIA Theatre L.A. Live. For everyone else, there will be a livestream!
Nintendo Digital Event
Just like last year, Nintendo will deliver its main news via a program called “Nintendo Digital Event” (some sort of E3 flavoured Nintendo Direct), with more news revealed before and during E3. It will take place on June 16th at:
– Europe: 6PM
– UK: 5PM
– North America (East): 12PM
– North America (West): 9AM
– Japan: 1AM, June 17th
Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ E3
If you liked the Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ E3, last year, you’ll be delighted to hear that Nintendo will bring it back at E3 2015! This year, Nintendo promises even more in-depth coverage of upcoming games for Nintendo consoles (Wii U and Nintendo 3DS), with various members of Nintendo Treehouse and developers, directly from the Nintendo booth. Of course, it will all be streamed live, on YouTube and Twitch!
More details will be shared in the upcoming weeks, closer to E3.
Nintendo Access: Mario Maker at Best Buy
Last year, during E3, fans could try out Super Smash Bros. for Wii U at various BestBuy stores. This year, it’s Mario Maker that will be playable! Attendees will even be able to get their hands on a neat 30th anniversary Super Mario Bros. pin (while supplies last, obviously).
Mario Maker will be playable at various BestBuy stores on: June 17th, 4PM to 9PM / June 20th, 12PM to 5PM (local time).
