[N-Direct] Zelda: Breath of the Wild – More details on the Champions amiibo
Back at E3 2017, Nintendo revealed not one, but four new amiibo for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. They’re based on the four Champions: Daruk, Mipha, Revali and Urbosa. And during the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo shared some additional details about them, revealing what they would do in-game.
Naturally, like the other Zelda amiibo, they will allow you to get some extra food, materials, and weapons when tapped, but there’s more. Each amiibo will unlock a special piece of headgear, based on the four Divine Beasts (and more precisely the one each Champion is tied to). As for what those do in-game… we don’t really know!
Nintendo specifies that further details about the features of those amiibo will be shared at a later date. It’s quite likely that said features are directly tied to the upcoming DLC Pack for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is called “The Champions’ Ballad” after all. Quite interestingly, Nintendo did not mention it at all during the Nintendo Direct presentation…
However, we did get a release date for the Champions amiibo: November 10th. It’s more than likely that the second DLC Pack will be released on the same day!
While we wait for a confirmation, here’s a video and some pictures for the Champions amiibo:
