  • Fixed an issue where, if the player fainted right before performing the gunlance’s Blast Dash, they would perform a single Blast Dash when trying to use Shelling after recovering.
  • Fixed a bug where, if the player registers the Dragon Conversion skill to a loadout while the value exceeds the limit, the quantity of the effect in the loadout would be different from the actual effect.
  • Fixed a bug causing bias in the frequency at which some players would draw a monster’s attention (aggro).

【Followers】

  • Fixed a bug occasionally causing Luchika to try to guard against unblockable monster attacks when she has the gunlance equipped.
  • Fixed a bug where some of Utsushi’s voice lines would not properly play during the battle with Amatsu.
  • Fixed a bug causing Followers to perform incorrect evasion behavior if they heal just when Amatsu is about to perform one of its special attacks.
  • Fixed a bug causing Followers to get hit by the ice pillars that spawn at the end of a turf war between Malzeno and Velkhana.

  • Fixed a bug preventing the sound effect from being played when breaking a part on Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax’s body.
  • Fixed a bug occasionally preventing Marionette Spiders from being displayed in the correct location when the player throws them at a Crimson Glow Valstrax, a Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax, or a Risen Shagaru Magala.

  • Fixed a bug during the Amatsu quest occasionally causing the background used for when the quest is completed to be displayed after the player changes their equipment in the tent and then leaves the tent.
  • Fixed a bug during the Amatsu quest occasionally causing the cannon placed in the battle arena to keep facing downwards if the player accesses it while it is reloading.
  • Fixed a bug causing the sky to change rapidly if the player moves around a specific elevated platform in Area 13 of the Citadel.

  • You can now hold down the L button or R button to scroll through pages on the Smithy’s material selection screen.
  • Fixed an issue occasionally causing trinkets placed in Your Room in Elgado to face the wrong direction.

【Quests】

  • You can now earn 3-monster quests for Anomaly Investigations taking place at the Arena, the Infernal Springs, or the Forlorn Arena, starting from Level 261.
  • Fixed a bug occasionally preventing a completion mark from being displayed when completing a Special Investigation in a local co-op Lobby.
  • Chaotic Gore Magala may now appear during Expedition Tours.
  • Fixed a bug preventing some Side Quests from being deliverable until the player has completed specific other quests.
  • Fixed a bug during the Amatsu quest where, even if the player succesfully manages to restrain Amatsu with a Silkbinder shot, the voice line for a failed shot would be played.
  • Fixed a bug occasionally causing the on-screen guidance and Utsushi’s dialogue to disappear if the player uses a Great Wirebug during the Amatsu quest and it starts glowing.

  • Fixed a bug causing the Ominous Cloud lance to display with an unintended appearance when using the preview in the item box.
  • Fixed a bug where, if the player removes the gunlance’s “Stuffed Magnamalo” layered weapon outside of a tent, the sound effect for sheathing that weapon will still be played.
  • Fixed a bug preventing the reload sound for the Wicked Needle light bowgun from playing properly.
  • Fixed a bug causing the Espinas and Flaming Espinas light bowgun to appear unsheathed when sheathed.
  • Fixed a bug preventing the hunter’s hair from being displayed correctly when using the “Bahari Locks” hairstyle and equipping the Professor’s Goggles.

  • Increased the power and elemental correction value for the great sword’s Falling Slash, Vortex Slash, and Rising Slash in the Surge Slash Combo.
  • Increased the power of the great sword’s Adamant Charged Slash.
  • Reduced the amount of damage taken while charging the great sword’s Rage Slash.
  • The following adjustments were made to the long sword’s Harvest Moon:
    1. Increased the radius of the circle that spawns.
    2. Removed “”sheathing your weapon”” as a condition for canceling the effect.
    3. Players will no longer be knocked back when touching the ring.
    4. Decreased the cooldown time.
    5. Slightly increased the height of the display position for the circle.
  • Fixed a bug causing the sword & shield’s Jumping Slash to combo into a Rising Slash instead of a Roundslash if performed right after landing.
  • Increased the power and elemental correction value for the dual blades’ Demon Flurry Rush and Lunging Strike.

  • Fixed a bug where Followers appearing in the targeting reticle for long-range weapons would occasionally prevent it from displaying correctly.

  • Fixed an issue occasionally causing Buddies to be displayed inappropriately at a Buddy Recon point.
  • Mitigated a bug occasionally preventing Buddies from participating in combat due to the fact that they keep attacking sleeping small monsters when they are on alert.

【Followers】

  • Fixed a bug causing a Follower’s Buddy’s attack to hit the player as well when the Buddy tries to knock the Follower out of a status that prevents them from moving.
  • Fixed a bug preventing dialogue between Followers from being played if the player is at camp when the quest is completed.
  • Fixed a bug causing Followers to keep dodging for a while if the player returns to base camp right before Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax’s comet attack hits the ground.
  • Fixed a bug preventing Followers from dodging Magnamalo’s explosion when it is in a turf war with Velkhana.

  • Fixed a bug causing monsters to move in the direction of the Follower or player that used a Stinkmink, when using a Marionette Spider after said Stinkmink.

  • Fixed a bug causing Chichae’s dialogue at the Quest Counter not to match the player’s progress in the game.
  • Fixed a bug occasionally causing the cursor position memory for Master Rank at the Quest Counter to also affect other menu items.
  • Added a confirmation message when the player tries to buy or trade the maximum number of items at the Market, the Argosy, or the Anomaly Research Lab.
  • Fixed a bug preventing the ZL/ZR buttons from functioning on the screen for forging equipment/layered equipment at the Buddy Smithy if the top entry on the list of hired Buddies is empty.
  • Fixed various minor UI bugs on all of the loadout screens.
  • The number of pages for registering equipment loadouts, layered equipment loadouts, and hunter loadouts has been increased to 28.

  • Fixed a bug during Anomaly Investigations occasionally preventing player voices warning about attacks from being played for Apex monster attacks.
  • Fixed a bug preventing afflicted materials from being awarded when breaking parts on Risen elder dragons during Anomaly Quests and Anomaly Investigations.
  • Fixed a bug occasionally causing quests received under certain circumstances when a guest joins an Anomaly Investigation to become invalid quests.
  • Increased the number of Anomaly Research points the player can earn from Anomaly Investigations between level 1 and 220.
    (For quests between level 1 and 120, the increase in points is even larger than before.)

Bug Fixes and Balance Adjustments

Player

【Hunter】

  • Fixed an issue where the player could attract Hellfireblight while inside a tent.
  • Fixed an issue where the icons for Switch Skill Swap and Felyne Fireworks would not be crossed out on the Action Bar if they were unavailable due to a status ailment.
  • Added extra mitigation measures for an issue preventing certain weapon sound effects from playing if a lot of sound effects occur simultaneously.
  • Fixed an issue where the effect of the Wind Mantle skill would be canceled when using an item with the sword & shield unsheathed while jumping off a platform.
  • Fixed an issue for the longsword where the follow-up attack of a successful counter within the area of effect of the Harvest Moon skill would occur somewhere else, if performed after landing a counterattack on a monster sometime before.
  • Fixed an issue for the gunlance causing the Bullet Barrage attack to activate even if you only have 1 active Wirebug available, if you combo from a Lunging Upthrust into a Quick Reload.
  • If a monster was marked by a Bullshroud or Grancathar Kinsect and the player performed a Kinsect Slash > Kinsect Glide > Kinsect Slash > Kinsect Glide, the hunter would not fly in the direction of the Kinsect mark during the second Kinsect Glide. This issue has been fixed.
  • Fixed a bug occasionally causing two shots to be fired with a single button press when using the heavy bowgun’s Crouching Shot.
  • Fixed a bug causing a line to be displayed in the center of the red alert symbol around the heavy bowgun’s reticle gauge when it overheats during a Crouching Shot.
  • Fixed the percentage in the explanation text for the Lv 3 Spare Shot skill from 20% to 25%.
    (The actual in-game percentage has not changed.)

  • In Ver.3.1.0, an issue was addressed that prevented the player from carving a severed tail if the tail overlapped with the fence switch in the Arena. This fix was not properly reflected in Ver.10.0.2 and onward, so it has been fixed again.

【Endemic Life】

  • Fixed an issue causing two Marionette Spiders to be consumed when one is attached to a monster and the player tries to pull it back at the exact same time that the monster changes areas, also resulting in the player not being able to pick up additional Marionette Spiders.
  • Fixed an issue occasionally causing Scale Lizards to drop materials they’re not supposed to drop.

  • Sword & Shield: Applying Destroyer Oil now also restores some sharpness (in addition to its current effect).
  • Sword & Shield: Fixed an issue with the timing of chaining a Rising Slash into a Roundslash, where using the button assigned for a Roundslash would mistakenly chain into a Lateral Slash or Shield Attack instead.
  • Dual Blades — Spiral Slash: Attack power slightly increased; elemental scaling slightly increased.
  • Dual Blades: Fixed an issue where the hellfire from Hellfireblight would stay on the player instead of transferring to the ground after using Spiral Slash too close to the targeted monster.

  • Reduced some of the issues involving certain weapon sound effects not playing correctly when too many other sound effects play at the same time.
  • Fixed an issue where the skill Redirection would prompt a chat log message even if the skill effect has not been triggered, which could happen when hitting a Lampsquid or other endemic creature while performing a Switch Skill Swap.
  • Fixed an issue where the effect durations for Gourmet Fish and Immunizer could be unintentionally overwritten by shorter effect durations (like from the skill Wide Range).
  • Fixed an issue where receiving a blowback hit when you are afflicted with Hellfireblight and have a blowback negation effect active would cause all subsequent Hellfireblights to explode even when receiving hits that wouldn’t cause blowback (the intended behavior is that only blowback hits would cause the Hellfireblight explosion).
  • Fixed an issue introduced in Version 12.0.1 where the icon for Defense Down would sometimes display at incorrect times.
  • The color flashing effects of different parts of the health bar have been made easier to tell apart when the Bleeding status is active.
  • Fixed an issue where curing the Frenzy status activated by the skill Bloodlust with an Antidobra would ignore the size of your red health gauge and restore more health than intended.

  • Some Palamute Gear have had their values adjusted. The cooldown time for each tool has also been slightly increased.

How to download updates for Monster Hunter Rise for the Nintendo Switch?

To download the updates for Monster Hunter Rise, you have three options:

  • let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off

If not…

  • try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;
