Mighty Rabbit and Sekai Project bringing the Ren’Py Engine to Unity

Ren’Py is the name of a free game engine, used to create Visual Novels. It’s used by many hobbyists, since it’s completely free. And it’s soon about to become even more accessible. Yesterday, Mighty Rabbit and Sekai Project announced that they were bringing the engine (written in Python) to Unity. More precisely, their goal is to bring it to consoles, including the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS.

Unfortunately, that’s all we know for now, and it’s not clear when the first games running on the Unity version of Ren’Py will be released. It’s most likely a bit too late for the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS, but this port is pretty good news for the NX platform.
