Luigi’s Mansion Arcade: official website opens, trailer and tutorial video

Last year, we learned about a new Luigi’s Mansion game which is currently in development, but it’s not for the Wii U or the Nintendo 3DS… but for Arcades! Logically called Luigi’s Mansion Arcade, the game is based on Luigi’s Mansion 2 (Dark Moon in North America), which has sold over 4 million units since launch.

After some pictures from Locatests (some sort of public beta for Arcade machines) and a couple of screenshots in February, Capcom has finally opened the official website for the game today: you will find it there! There isn’t much in there for now (most of the sections aren’t opened just yet), but there’s already two videos, as well as a couple of screenshots.

First, here’s the trailer for the game:

There’s another video, which explains how to play. Since Luigi’s Mansion Arcade is based on Luigi’s Mansion 2, the gameplay is more or less the same (for the ghost catching part). There is one big difference though: the game is in first-person, and you cannot control where you are going. The rest is the same: you use the strobe to flash ghosts, then you suck them in with the Poltergust (by shaking it).

Some of the ghosts are wearing protection, so you need to remove it (or catch them off-guard) first before you can catch them. If you’ve already played Luigi’s Mansion 2 before, you certainly won’t be lost if you ever get the chance to try out this game!

Here’s the tutorial video for Luigi’s Mansion Arcade:

Finally, here’s some screencaps from the official website:

Luigi’s Mansion Arcade (Arcade) will come out this Summer in Japan.
