Lost Sphear: demo now available in Japan, TGS presentation

Last week, during a livestream held during the Tokyo Game Show 2017, Square-Enix announced that Lost Sphear would get a demo version “soon” (possibly the following week), and they were not joking: it was released at 12AM JST, on Monday.

That demo version allows you to play through the prologue, all the way to the lunar town of Eru. After that… well, you will have to wait until the full version of the game is released. The good news is, if you do play the demo, you will not have to go through the prologue once more or anything: you will be able to transfer your progress, and tada! Ready to start playing where the demo left off.

The demo is currently available for download on the Nintendo eShop in Japan, and requires no less than 793MB… that’s quite the meaty demo! Unfortunately, it’s only playable in Japanese, because there’s no simultaneous release for this game: it comes out in Europe and North America about 3 months after Japan.

It’s basically guaranteed that Europe and North America will indeed get the demo, but not before January (or December at the earliest). Naturally, we will make sure to list it on the Nintendo Switch Demos page as soon as it’s announced.

Finally, here’s the recording of the Tokyo Game Show 2017 presentation, featuring a fair bit of gameplay footage:

Lost Sphear (Switch) comes out on October 12th in Japan, and January 23rd in Europe and North America.
