Lord of Magna: localisation blog post #2

Last week, XSEED published its second localisation blog post for Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven, with some new info and screenshots for the game. First of all: the main character is named Luchs, but you can actually chose whichever name you want. In fact, they nearly doubled the character limit for the name, which means players will be able to get really creative if they want to.

Brittany talks a bit about him, and explains that before the game’s release in Japan, the press didn’t said much about the protagonist. Luchs is a relaxed (but not lazy) individual, who don’t mind letting characters with stronger personalities take the reins. He’s also described as being quite chill, trusting, perceptive, and not really a social butterfly (even though he’s not cold or distant whatsoever).

Overall, Luchs has a rather welcoming and positive personality, and he accepts each of the heroines as they are. Each of them have their own “quirks”, but the protagonist doesn’t really try to justify or change them in any way.

What’s more, his interactions with the heroines are “custom-tailored”, meaning you won’t get the same relationship with all of them. No, you won’t get a romantic relationship with all the heroines, as some of them are more like a sibling or a good friend than a love interest. In other words, Luchs’ personality and attitude feels much more genuine.

Britanny then compares Lord of Magna to otome/dating sims, where the protagonist has a rather “bland” personality (to help the players insert themselves in the role), but that’s not the case in this game. Luchs has a very clear personality, and the way he interacts with the various heroines certainly makes the romance aspect feel more “genuine”.

And finally, here’s some screenshots for the game:

Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven (3DS) comes out later this year in North America. A release date should be announced in the near future.
