The LEGO NINJAGO Movie Video Game announced for the Nintendo Switch

It’s not one, but two new LEGO video games that Warner Bros. is bringing to he Nintendo Switch. The first one is LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, and it will be released this “winter” (in time for Christmas. The second one was announced today, and will be released much earlier: The LEGO NINJAGO Movie Video Game.

As the name implies, it’s a video game adaptation of the LEGO NINJAGO movie. Here’s its debut trailer:

In this game, you get to play as Lloyd, Nya, Jay, Kai, Cole, Zane, and Master Wu. Your mission? Defend the home island of Ninjago from Lord Garmadon and his Shark Army. To do so, you need to battle your way through waves of enemies, but also master the art of Ninjagility.

Ninjagility allows the characters to perform actions such as wall-running, high-jumping, and more. By battling, the characters can rank up, which allows you to upgrade their combat skills.

According to the press release, The LEGO NINJAGO Movie Video Game features no less than 8 “large, action-packed” locations, based on the story of the movie. Each one has its own unique Challenge Dojo, where players can test their skills against increasing tougher enemies.

The game also features Battle Maps, where you can play against friends and family members. There’s 4 different game modes for that, including support for split-screen local multiplayer (up to 4 players).

The LEGO NINJAGO Movie Video Game (Switch) comes out on September 22nd in North America, and October 6th in Europe.
