Heart Forth, Alicia
Yesterday, the developers of Heart Forth, Alicia posted a rather meaty Kickstarter update: you can click here to check it out! It features:
- some soundtrack samples for Wasteland Spire and Blivek City. We learn that the team has already included live instruments in some tracks, but they’re waiting for the soundtrack to be completed before hiring musicians to record everything. Right now, the game has over 45 tracks composed, and they’re planning to have 15 more;
- details about a rather ambitious cutscene:
This is easily the most ambitious cutscene in the game thus far in terms of action and content: there’s explosions, huge lightning bolt effects, flashbacks, gates that burst into pieces, a pseudo-3d background like the Dracula Tower in SOTN, hot-air balloons that are consumed in flames, several specially-rendered video cutscenes integrated with the game, more than 25 characters on screen at a certain point and a short but epic fight between two strong characters.
The developers explain that the game’s plot has a dark side, and this cutscene is where it “rears its head”. This cutscene is also where a custom tool they created kicks in: it allows them to integrate WebM videos in the game as regular assets (so that they can apply various effects to them).
- confirmation that they would be at the Game Developer Conference, from March 14th to March 17th.
Heart Forth, Alicia will be released on Wii U.
Astral Breakers
Yesterday, Gamasutra published a really interesting interview with the developers of Astral Breakers. In it, we learn that the game was actually designed with eSports in mind (despite being a casual matchmaking game). They took the game to various competitive gaming events, and had competitive players try it out and give feedback.

The Hand of Pandas
The developers announced on Kickstarter that the game would launch on March 3rd (in North America, presumably).
