Genei Ibun Roku #FE: blog post from the music composer

Genei Ibun Roku #FENintendo may not reveal new details about Genei Ibun Roku #FE very often, but at least, the official blog gets new posts pretty frequently.

Today, it was Yoshiaki Fujisawa’s turn to write a few words about the game, in order to talk about the music. For those who don’t know, he’s the one behind the game’s soundtrack, and more precisely the BGM. In the past, he has worked on projects such as the LoveLive!, GATE, Nichijou or Akuma no Riddle anime series.

It all started when he received a phone call from George Aburai (from Avex, who is producing the music in the game), who asked him if he was interested in composing the music for a game. After that, he went and met up with the developers (including the sound team), in order to learn more about it.

He explains that composing the music for a game is radically different than for a show airing on TV, so he struggled a lot (especially at the beginning). Thankfully, he got plenty of useful advice from the Atlus sound team, which really helped him compose the music. He actually had a lot of fun working in this creative environment, with a team.

He actually felt rather nervous everytime he had to present a song he had composed for the game, but he does remember being very excited when they first checked out of one his compositions.

When it came to composing the music for the game, Yoshiaki Fujisawa tried to bring out the feeling of stages and dance floors, with plenty of groovy tracks, since the game has “entertainment” (with idols) as one of its main themes. In fact, the battle music always gives him the urge to start dancing! For the field and event scenes, he made a variety of tracks based on the ideas born from brainstorming with the team.

Finally, Yoshiaki Fujisawa revealed that one of the characters in the game has been modeled after himself!

Genei Ibun Roku #FE (Wii U) comes out on December 26th in Japan, and next year in Europe and North America.
