Earth’s Dawn (side-scrolling action) headed to the Nintendo Switch on January 25th (Japan)

Every week brings a slew of indie game announcements for the Nintendo Switch, and this one is no different. But this time, we got a game from Japan, and not Europe, Australia, New Zealand, or North America. That game is Earth’s Dawn (known as Earth Wars in its home country), developed by OneorEight.

Described as frenetic side-scrolling action mechanics with RPG elements and a hard-edged manga aesthetic, Earth’s Dawn offers a significant amount of freedom: customisation of skill trees, weapon and equipment crafting, banching mission system. The focus is quite clearly on letting players enjoy the game the way they want.

Here’s what the story is all about:

After decades of peace, the Earth was decimated by an invasion from an alien race known to humans as E.B.E. The E.B.E. moved across the planet, consuming anything in their path and proved impervious to existing weapons. Ahead of the impending annihilation a breakthrough was made – the E.B.E. was susceptible to damage by weaponry designed using its very own technology. The power to fight back was now in the hands of an elite fighting force.

Here’s a trailer and a list of key features:

  • Play as an elite soldier using bionic alien implants and reclaim Earth from the invading nightmare!
  • Create your own unique soldier, customising their skills to your play style and crafting new weapons and equipment
  • Use a huge range of sword, gun and agility moves in fast-paced battles to build combos and earn rewards.
  • Discover a unique story that changes depending on the missions you choose to fight through.

Finally, here’s some screenshots:

Earth’s Dawn (Switch – eShop) will be released on January 25th in Japan, where it will cost 500 Yen. It’s already been added to the Upcoming Games page!
