[E3 2016] Zelda: Breath of the Wild getting 3 amiibo (pics, videos, details, more)

The Legend of Zelda Breath of the WildBack when The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD was announced, Nintendo explained that the Wolf Link amiibo would be used in the next Zelda game. Naturally, it was pretty unlikely that there wouldn’t also be a dedicated line of amiibo for it, and that’s exactly what Nintendo announced.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is getting not one, but three different amiibo:

  • Archer Link
  • Rider Link
  • Guardian (the very first amiibo with flexible parts)

Here’s a video and some pictures showcasing those new Zelda amiibo:

Head after the break for the rest of this post!

As for the Wolf Link amiibo, it will allow you to summon Wolf Link in the game. He will then accompany you on your jouney, helping you fight enemies, hunting for food (which is a pretty crucial aspect of the game), and more. Considering there’s no partner in the game (like Fi, or Navi), you will feel a tad less alone with this trusty companion at your side.

When you summon Wolf Link, he only has 3 hearts. But he can have more depending on how many hearts are registered on the amiibo, after completing the Cave of Shadows. Once he’s out of hearts, Wolf Link simply disappear. Unfortunately, it’s not clear how many times a day you can summon Wolf Link, or if you need to replenish the heart on the amiibo or not.
