Dragon Ball news (July 23): Dragon Ball FighterZ / Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Dragon Ball FighterZ

Today, Bandai-Namco announced that two “new” characters were coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ: Base Goku and Base Vegeta (basically, their original version). They will be added as DLC in early August on other platforms, but it’s not unclear when they will be available on Nintendo Switch. All we know is that those two characters will come with their iconic moves (that any Dragon Ball fan worth their salt should recognise instantly): Kaioken, Spirit Bomb, Galick Gun and Galaxy Breaker!

But that’s not all: Bandai-Namco has also revealed that the Nintendo Switch version of the game will feature some new local multiplayer options:

  • 2v2 and 1v1 Match.
  • Offline 6-player Party Match mode.

Finally, it’s been announced Dragon Ball FighterZ is getting an open beta next month (August) on Nintendo Switch. Further details will be provided at a later date, though!

Here’s some screenshots showcasing Base Goku and Base Vegeta:

And here’s a Japanese TV Commercial for the game:

Dragon Ball FighterZ (Switch) comes out on September 27th in Japan, and September 28th in Europe and North America.
