Dragalia Lost: an action RPG from Nintendo and Cygames for smart devices; details, trailer, screens, more

Dragalia Lost – Announcement

During the previous meeting with investors, back in February, Nintendo announced a new game for smart devices: Mario Kart Tour. And during today’s meeting, another one was announced: Dragalia Lost.

Unlike all previous Nintendo games on smart devices, this one is a completely original game. What’s more, it’s co-developed by Cygames, with several mega hits under its belt (with the most famous one being Granblue Fantasy).

This a pretty important partner for Nintendo, who seems to be quite ambitious about this game (Cygames isn’t really your run-of-the-mill developer, after all). It’s so important that Nintendo is actually going to obtain about 5% of Cygames’ issued stocks.

Dragalia Lost is an Action RPG, that is co-developed and will be jointly operated with Cygames. Nintendo promises a “new gaming experience with worldwide appeal”… even though the game will only be available in Japan, the United States, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau at launch. Of course, the game will also be launched in the rest of the world, but it’s not clear when just yet.

Dragalia Lost – Details, trailer

Following the announcement, the official website was launched, and a trailer uploaded.

Here’s the debut trailer:

As far as characters go, we have:

  • Eudiel (male protagonist, voiced by Kouki Uchiyama)
  • Xethia (female protagonist, voiced by Ai Kayano)
  • Elphyllis (blonde female character with the sword)
  • Nhaam (the little fairy, voiced by Yukana)

There’s over 60 of them in the game, and they will help you in your journey. They’re all voiced by famous voice actors. The game will feature various songs by DAOKO.

As mentioned above, Dragalia Lost is an action RPG, taking place in a world where you human and dragons live side by side. You can use swipes (on the touch screen) to control your character. During battles, you can transform into a dragon you’ve made a contract with. Naturally, there’s various attacks and skills for you to use in order to defeat enemies.
