Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles: over 2.7 million units shipped worldwide

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles was released on Nintendo Switch back in June, several months after other platforms. While we don’t know how much the game has sold on Nintendo Switch specifically, we do have some sales numbers for all platforms at a worldwide level.

To coincide with the release of the latest character DLC (Gyutaro from the Entertainment District Arc), Aniplex announced that Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles has now shipped over 2.7 million units worldwide.

That number includes the following:

  • shipments to retailers for all platforms
  • digital sales for all platforms

By the time Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles was released on Nintendo Switch, the game had already sold well over 1 million units. On June 27th, a few weeks after the release of the Nintendo Switch version, it was announced that total shipments had topped 2.2 million units, which means the game went on to sell 500 000 units in roughly 5 months. It looks like the game is enjoying steady sales, despite the lack of new anime series / movies.
