Darksiders: Warmastered Edition formally announced, date, details, screens, boxart

Last week, Pelle Lundborg (co-founder of Nordic Games) spilled the beans early, and confirmed that Nordic Games was planning to release a remastered version of Darksiders on Wii U (and other platforms). And today, Nordic Games sent a press release to formally announced this remaster, called Darksiders: Warmastered Edition.

We learn that the game will be released on October 25th on all platforms, and in both Europe and North America. The game will cost:

  • Europe: 19.99€ / £14.99
  • North America: $19.99

If you’re wondering who’s working on this remaster, the answer is KAIKO. For those who don’t know, KAIKO worked on Legend of Kay Anniversary, and the Xbox One version of Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition.

Here’s the list of enhancements of this Darksiders remaster:

  • Native 1080p rendering resolution
  • Doubled all the texture resolutions
  • Rendering improvements and rework
  • Better shadow rendering quality
  • Post processing effects
  • 30FPS on Wii U

Early next week, Nordic Games will release some comparison screenshots!

Finally, a note about what happened to the person who spilled the beans about this remaster:

“We had a short-lived epidemic of premature emancipation, causing the affected persons to burp out sensitive info a little sooner than planned,” says Philipp Brock, PR & Marketing Director at Nordic Games, and continues “but after a minor surgery and some medication, we got it all under control.”
