Daily Briefs (Jan. 30): official Nintendo Store (NA) now selling amiibo / Masaya Nakamura

Today’s Daily Briefs: official Nintendo Store (NA) now selling amiibo, but also…

  • Masaya Nakamura

Official Nintendo Store (NA)

In North America, the Official Nintendo Store began as a rather limited store, where users could buy replacement parts for their Nintendo consoles (cables, AC Adapters, etc.). But in the past few years, it started selling additional items, such as cover plates for the New Nintendo 3DS, and refurbished consoles, and even games.

And it looks like Nintendo recently began selling amiibo via its official Nintendo Store. They don’t have all the figures (and none of the cards), but they still have quite a few of them (including some that may be hard to find in store). Click here to check out which ones they are carrying!

Thanks FearMyWrench for the heads up!

Masaya Nakamura

Masaya Nakamura is a name you might not be too familiar with (especially if you were not an avid gamer in the 80-90’s), but you’ve definitely heard of the company that he founded: Namco.

Earlier today, Bandai-Namco sent a press release to announce that Masaya Nakamura had died on January 22nd, though the cause of death is not mentioned. Since he was 91, we can assume he had a peaceful death.
