Attack on Titan: more details and pictures for the 3DS Adventure game

Earlier this week, it was revealed via Famitsu magazine that a new Attack on Titan game would be released on Nintendo 3DS next year.  Called Attack on Titan: Shichi Kara no Dasshutsu, it’s not an action game like the previous one, but an Adventure game developed by Ruby Party (known for their Neoromance titles).

Today, Koei-Tecmo opened the official website (or at least, a teaser website!), with additional details about the game and its story. As mentioned before, the game takes place before the 57th Expedition Beyond the Wall. You’re part of a team of 12 members from the Survey Corps, sent on a small expedition to investigate an old castle.

As it happens, the character you play as is from the region the castle is located, so that’s why you’re the one guiding the team. When you finally make it out of the forest and arrive at the castle, a group of titans attack. During the chaos that ensues, the ground collapses and everyone falls to the underground levels of the castle.

To make things even worse, your Three Dimensional Maneuver Gear broke, and you have been separated from your teammates. Your goal in the game is to find your teammates, solve the mysteries of the castle, and make it out of there alive.

Along with your partner, you set out in search of clues to find out how to escape, solve puzzles, and save your teammates. Since this is an Adventure game, controls are extemely simple, allowing you to enjoy a tense story of despair and terror. By working together in order to survive, the characters learn about each other, and their bonds deepen.

Finally, here’s some illustrations from the official website:
