Arc System Works bringing Shephy to the Nintendo 3DS

Today, Arc System Works announced their latest downloadable game for the Nintendo 3DS, which is none other than Shephy. For those who don’t know, Shephy is a solitaire-like card game. You start with just one sheep in your field, and your goal is to end up with at least 1 000 of them before the end. To do so, you have to manage the various event cards presented to you.

There are several types of cards:

  • Sheep cards: they come in 1, 3, 10, 30, 100, 300 and 1 000 variants;
  • Event cards: there’s 22 of them. Here’s some examples:

“Good” cards

  • Be Fruitful (Duplicate one of your Sheep cards)
  • Multiply (Place one 3 Sheep cards in the field)
  • Fill the Earth (Place as many 1 Sheep cards as you like in the field)

“Bad” cards

  • Shephion (Release seven Sheep cards)
  • Meteor (Remove this card from the game, and then release three Sheep cards)
  • Plague (release all Sheep card from one rank).

Special cards

  • Sheep Dog (Discard one card from your hand)
  • All Purpose Card (Choose a card in your hand. Play this card as a copy of the card you chose)
  • Inspiration (Look through the deck and add one card of your choice to your hand, and then re-shuffle the deck)

Shephy on Nintendo 3DS includes several game modes, including Practice (to lean how to play), Basic Mode (you keep playing until you get 1 000 Sheep in your field), Challenge Mode (you keep playing in order to get the highest score possible), and even a Story mode (with 7 episodes, and special rules).
