Xenoblade Genesis is the title of the latest entry in the Xenoblade Chronicles series, and it’s coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.

Xenoblade Genesis was revealed during the latest Nintendo Direct. Here’s the reveal trailer:

Anshal is a world with six sun. In this vast world, diverse nations vie for powers. Despite ceaseless conflicts between those nations, the people go on with their life with resilience.

Water, fire, wind — every force that gave shape to this world was a manifestation of the Anima that flows through the land. Those who can freely manipulate Anima and wield it in battle are known as Vesselai. In this world blightest by ceaseless conflicts, they play a key role in battles.

Leukos is an academy for Vesselai, where those aiming to become top-class warriors gather. Eleanor, a young woman who enrolls there, is given an Anima crystone, a special stones that amplifies the powers of a Vesselai.

During her time at the academy, Eleanor will get to encounter many people, each with their own destiny. Just why did she decided to enroll there?

Monolith Soft. confirms that Xenoblade Genesis represents a brand new chapter in the Xenoblade Chronicles series, following the conclusion of the trilogy in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The executive producer is, as always, Tetsuya Takahashi.

Finally, we learn that the game has not one, but two character designers: Mai Yoneyama (who designed Masha in Xenoblade Chronicles 3) and PALOW. (who designed Ino and Alpha Phase Two in Xenoblade Chronicles 3).
