MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM SEED BATTLE DESTINY REMASTERED: some more details and pictures

Next week, Bandai-Namco will release MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM SEED BATTLE DESTINY REMASTERED. Originally released on PS Vita in 2012, the game is getting higher resolution graphics, improved map effects, and various gameplay adjustments and improvements (save data system, difficulty levels, etc.).

Today, the focus is on two systems called Mobile Suit Restriction Removal and High Difficulty Missions, which are unlocked once you’ve progressed up to a certain point in the game.

As the name suggests, Mobile Suit Restrictions Removal lifts any restrictions placed on your mobile suits. Those restrictions exist in the first place because the game aims to faithfully reproduce the world and setting of the original Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series. And so, in the early stages, the game places certain limits on your mobile suits to stay true to the original work.

For example:

  • you cannot use a mobile suit intended for space battle on a mission taking place on the ground
  • you get reduced performance when a Natural rides in a mobile suit designed for a Coordinator
  • and more…

But thanks to the Mobile Suit Restrictions Removal, you can get rid of those restrictions, which drastically improves replayability at the same time.

Also, MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM SEED BATTLE DESTINY REMASTERED features some High Difficulty Missions. Those are unlocked once you’ve gained a certain amount of experience as a Union or ZAFT pilot.

Those high difficulty missions are not influenced by the era or power of the mobile suits you choose. One of them is called Ultra Ace, and features four of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED’s most famous mobile suits and pilots. Another one is called Battle Destiny, and pits you against eight units from that same series.

Finally, here’s the latest round of pictures for the game:
