Cookie Clicker clicks its way to Switch next week

Cookie Clicker is an idle game that first launched around 12 years ago, and quickly went viral. It’s been continually updated ever since, and next week, it’s even getting a long-awaited console release courtesy of DashNet and Playsaurus Games (who are already responsible for the Steam version).

Cookie Clicker will launch on Nintendo Switch on May 22nd worldwide for $4.99 / 580 Yen. The trailer below clearly shows the Nintendo Switch 2 logo, but it’s not clear whether the console will get a dedicated, native port at a later date, or if it’s just an attempt to ride on Nintendo Switch 2 hype (by taking advantage of the fact that the console can play the majority of Nintendo Switch games via backcompatibility).

Never heard of Cookie Clicker before? It’s one those so-called idle games featuring minimal player interaction. In this one, you have to keep clicking in order to make absolutely ludicrious amounts of cookies.
