Pokémon news (March 16th): new Pokémon Shuffle event, Japan Cup 2015

Pokémon Shuffle

Today, a new event for Pokémon Shuffle went live: it adds a brand new Competitive stage, in which you have to go against Mega Lucario. If you manage to beat it, you can earn a Jewel… and a Lucarionite if you happen to be among the 20 000 best players in the West,  or one of the 50 000 best players in Japan. This new event runs until Monday, March 23rd (6AM UTC).

But before you can tackle this Competitive stage, you have to update the game and get the version 1.1.3. To do so, just use the check-in feature, as usual.

Japan Cup 2015

In Japan, the next battle competiton for Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire was fully revealed last week. It’s called the Japan Cup 2015, and takes place between May 1st and May 5th, with the registration period running from April 17th to May 1st. The rules are the following:

– double-battles
– standard VGC rules
– National Pokédex (with the usual Legendary Pokémon not allowed)

This competition will also determine who will get to go to the Pokémon World Championship, and represent Japan there. There will be 32 players selected from the Junior/Senior divisions, and 31 for the Master division (with one additional player announced at a later date).
