Gearshifters: gameplay trailer

Numskull Games have shared a gameplay trailer for Gearshifters, the arcade-action shoot-’em-up rogue-lite developed by Red Phantom Games and releasing next month in Europe and North America.

In Europe, Gearshifters is getting a retail release, with two editions available:

• Regular
• Collector’s Edition

The Collector’s Edition includes the following:

An arcade-action shoot-’em-up rogue-lite. Steer, drift, spin, smash and gun through waves of enemy vehicles. Go to war against extreme-machine bosses. Build up and tune your tactical loadout of car mods, defenses and weaponry for each treacherous transport mission. Drive. Destroy. Get paid. Upgrade!

The civilised world is no more and the roads between the collapsed settlements are ruled by opposing syndicates of gangs. The routes are treacherous but commodities and high value items must still be transported, for the right price.

Gearshifters is a high-intensity top-down vehicle combat game, combining classic shoot-em-up retro arcade gameplay with rogue-like elements.

• DRIVE: Employ precision control and expert driving skills to race rings around foes, dodge incoming projectiles, and unleash intense attacks. High-octane action at every turn, slide and spin.
• DESTROY: Defeat the lawless factions that dominate dystopian future Europe in a story arc over five acts. Take down their insane, heavily-armed boss machines.
• GET PAID & UPGRADE:  Tackle dangerous delivery missions to ensure the safe arrival of precious cargo. Get paid, and modify your car from a range of 100 unlockable offensive, defensive, cosmetic and performance-based customisations.
• EXPLOSIVE DELIVERY: Expand your territory across the post-apocalyptic continent. Only the most skilled Gearshifter can take on the most perilous routes and reach the mysterious Citadel. Test your mettle in Standard, Casual and Perma-Death game modes.

Gearshifters (Switch) does not have a release date yet, but is slated for an October release in Europe and North America.
