ProjectISO (3D isometric platforming game) announced for Nintendo Switch

Replayne, a brand new development studio from Toronto, have revealed their debut game: ProjectISO (temp. title), a 3D isometic platformer. It will be released sometime in 2022, and the developers have plans to bring it to Nintendo Switch (provided they do get the approval from Nintendo).

Here’s a gameplay trailer, some details, the list of key features, and some screenshots for the game:

Replayne’s first title, ProjectISO, is a 3D isometric platforming game with a focus on speed and action — inspired by the classic Sonic the Hedgehog games of the ’90s — with stages featuring a variety of ramps, half-pipes, loops and other elements that allow skilled players to remain in a constant state of motion.

In addition to the focus on speed, ProjectISO also offers players the alternative of exploring the stages more slowly in search of secrets. A set of missions in each stage encourage the player to travel through the stages in different ways.

One of the primary game mechanics in ProjectISO is the tether, a versatile rope which connects the character with stage elements and allows the player to interact with them in different ways. The tether can be used to attack enemies and perform maneuvers without losing speed.

• Speed – Once you gather enough speed you won’t stop! By moving at high speeds you can run on walls, reach higher areas and smash through barriers. Watch out for obstacles to avoid losing speed.
• Tether – A magical tether lets you hook onto items and enemies with a variety of different effects. Use it on enemies to perform a tether attack or attach to poles to make sharp turns without slowing down. Try it on other things to see what happens.
• Explore expansive levels – There’s more than one way to reach the goal. Take the fast route to beat the stage in record time, explore alternate paths to find secrets or follow the coolest looking items to rack up lots of style points.
• Defeat enemy leaders – Robotic enemies have invaded the fairies’ home and are draining the land of fairy energy. Partake in challenging battles with the enemy leaders to destroy their extraction plants and save the fairies.
• The Fairy Dimension – Collect enough secret items in a stage and you’ll be transported to a challenging bonus level in the fairy dimension. Rush through the stage and gather as many items as possible within the time limit.
• Choose your objective – The variety of missions allow you to enjoy each stage to the fullest by replaying them under special conditions. Try reaching the goal within a time limit or defeating as many enemies as you can.

ProjectISO (Switch – eShop) does not have a release date yet, but is slated for a 2022 release in Europe and North America.
