Fire Emblem Fates: marriage confirmed in Dengeki Nintendo
Marriage is one of the most popular features in Fire Emblem Awakening, and it originally appeared in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of War (on the SNES). But so far, Nintendo and Intelligent Systems still haven’t confirmed whether it would be back in Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright and Conquest.
But today, thanks to leaks from Dengeki Nintendo (and Nintendo Dream), we have the confirmation that marriage will indeed be in Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright and Conquest. But that’s not all: your characters will also be able to get children, who will fight alongside them on the battlefield. The feature works just like in Fire Emblem Awakening:
– support level required: S
– opposite-gender only
– the two characters must be compatible
What’s more, there’s also special “Confession” screens, just like in Fire Emblem Awakening. But this time around, the identity of the child is based on the father, while their hair colour is from the mother.
Famitsu gives two examples:
– Avatar + Felicia = Kanna
– Tsuyukomi + Orochi = Shara (who looks and speak like Tharja, for some reason)
Unfortunately, we do not know where the children come from. However, one of the screenshots show Kanna mentionning her going to battle with her father in the “outside world”… whatever that outside world is, we do not know just yet! No doubt we should be getting more details about that next year, in Famitsu magazine.
Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright and Conquest (3DS) comes out on June 25th in Japan, and next year in Europe and North America.
