Japan – Media Create sales for Week 15, 2015 (April 6 – 12)
During week 15 (quite slow, due to the start of the new school year), there’s absolutely no new entry for Nintendo consoles in the Top 20. That being said, there’s quite a few Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in there, including Ansatsu Kyoushitsu: Korosensei Daihouimou!! which went straight from #47 to #10 thanks to a new shipment (the game sold out rather quickly after launch). Mario Kart 8 is also back in the Top 20, though this is mostly due to the poor sales of the other games in the Software charts.
As for Hardware, there’s nothing special to note this week, as sales are down for everyone. This includes the Nintendo 3DS, even though it did manage to hold on better than last year with 26 841 units sold (vs 23 562 units during the same week, in 2014). The Wii U is still selling as poorly as ever, but surprisingly enough, sales aren’t down as much as other consoles (6 654 units this week vs. 7 486 units last week, and 5 512 units during week 15 in 2014).
