Ultra Street Fighter II: footage for the Way of the Hado mode (First person), more footage

Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers

This week, Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers was showcased during the latest episode of Capcom TV. The Assistant Producer was there to showcase the game, including the brand new Way of the Hado mode, which is only found in this Nintendo Switch version of Street Fighter II.

As revealed this week in Famitsu magazine, Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers can be played in First Person in a mode called Way of the Hado. This mode is separate from the rest of the game, and can be played only with Ryu it seems.

There are two main modes:

  • Story Mode (with three starges: Beginner, Standard, and Extra)
  • Endless Mode (self-explanatory)

The footage below shows that the Joy-Cons need to be calibrated at the beginning of each stage, which is done by holding them a certain way. The experience points mentioned in our previous post actually applies to that mode specifically, and not the rest of the game.

Here’s some gameplay footage for the Way of the Hado mode in Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers on the Nintendo Switch:

NB: audio was horribly out of sync during the livestream (and its recording on YouTube). Hopefully Capcom’s official upload, coming next week, will have better audio!

And finally, here’s some more gameplay footage, with regular battles this time around:

Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers (Switch) will be released later this year.
