Splatoon 2: original soundtrack (Splatune 2) and artbook releasing in November in Japan

There’s two things that are pretty popular with Splatoon: its unique soundtrack, and its art style (especially the illustrations used to promote the game and its events). That’s why the official artbook and Splatune (the soundtrack album) enjoyed great popularity when they were released in Japan, with the latter breaking sales records for a video game music album. Naturally, Splatoon 2 is going to get both: Splatune 2 and the artbook!

Today, Famitsu reveals that the Splatoon 2 original soundtrack (Splatune 2) and the official artbook will both be released on November 29th in Japan.

Splatune 2 features all the music tracks from the game, including “Inkoming!” (by Wet Floor), Ebb & Flow (by Off the Hook), but also various sound effects and jingles (just like the original Splatune album).

The Splatoon 2 ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK -Splatune2- album includes 2 discs, and costs 3 200 Yen + taxes. It comes with a booklet featuring:

  • a jacket for each band from the Splatoon universe
  • a round table by the members of Wet Floor
  • a special interview with Marina
  • comments from the development team

As a bonus, the album includes a Splatoon 2 guitar pick!

As for the artbook, it’s called Splatoon 2 Ikasu Artbook, and it features some never-before-seen materials (such as fashion sketches), concept art, and more. Naturally, the cover was done by Seita Inoue (Art Director).
