[Reminder] Wii Street U service to be discontinued today

Reminder

Today is the last day to use Wii Street U powered by Google, so if you still have the app on your Wii U, now’s the time to use it one last time. Also, the Miiverse community will be closed, even though the messages themselves will not be deleted.

Wii Street UWii Street U powered by Google is a special version of Google’s Street View service, allowing users to look around simply by moving the GamePad. The Wii Balance Board can even be used to move around, which is a pretty surprising and neat use of the accessory. It was originally available for download for free, but became paid after a while.

And as announced back in 2013, when the service was initially launched, Wii Street U powered by Google is to be discontinued on March 31st (11.59PM local time). But before that, the software will be removed from the Nintendo eShop tomorrow (Sunday, January 31st), at 11.59PM local time. If you already own it, you will be able to redownload it even after it’s pulled from the Nintendo eShop.

However, after the service is discontinued, it will (naturally) be impossible to use the software at all, even if you still have it on your Wii U.
