Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher to launch on October 20th in the Americas (digital-only)
This year, the Monster Rancher series is celebrating its 25th Anniversary. To mark the occasion, Koei-Tecmo and Bandai-Namco will release a brand new game: Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher (a collaboration with the Ultraman series). Instead of the usual monsters, players get to collect, train, and compete with 200 kind of Kaiju.
This new game will launch on October 20th in Japan, and last week, Bandai-Namco announced that it will also launch on the same day in the Americas. Unfortunately, it will be only be available via the Nintendo eShop in those regions. While there is a physical release in Japan, it does not feature an English language option, so import is not an option for anyone not fluent enough in Japanese.
No announcement for Europe yet, but the game should be released on the same day as Japan and North America in that region.

The game is an intersection of two renowned franchises – Ultraman, the multimedia icon and pop culture sensation, and Monster Rancher, a beloved game series celebrating its 25th anniversary that lets players collect unique monsters and train them for competition.
In ULTRA KAIJU MONSTER RANCHER, players take on the role of an up-and-coming rancher to breed, befriend, and train Ultra Kaiju for competition. The game features more than 200 kinds of Kaiju including combination variations to collect. Kaiju can be generated using Keywords or NFC-enabled devices*. Players can also combine or synthesize monsters to create all-new-looking Kaiju. In addition to unique movements from Ultra Kaiju not typically seen in past works, ULTRA KAIJU MONSTER RANCHER sets the stage for epic clashes of monstrous proportions reminiscent of classic Ultraman bouts.
*One of the Kaiju regeneration functions – “Search for music” – won’t be implemented in the North and South America version.
Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher (Switch) comes out on October 20th in Europe and North America. No release date for Europe yet.
