Twilight Princess HD: more details on the enhancements, screenshots, and trailer

The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess HDToday, Nintendo opened the official website for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD in Japan, providing us with new details, videos, and screenshots for the game. And a few minutes ago, Nintendo of Europe sent a Press Release in order to reveal even more details about the game, but also some more screenshots.

The new details focus on the gameplay enhancements of this HD remaster of the game: most of the details aren’t really new, but we finally have a proper announcement for those.

First, the GamePad: as mentioned this morning, it can be used to manage the inventory, access the map, and transform into a wolf faster without having to pause the game. Of course, it can also be used for Off-TV play, posting messages on Miiverse (with 40 stamps to collect), and more.

In order to collect Poe souls, Link will be able to use a brand new item (already spotted in a previous gameplay video): it glows when there’s a Poe in the area.

Other changes include:

  • fewer Tears of Light to collect (something we spotted in a Famitsu article). You only need 12 of them per region now;
  • when you find rupees in a chest, but your wallet is already full, the rupees will no longer go back to the chest;
  • the wallets have been modified, and can now hold more rupees (this comes on top of the special wallet you get by completing the Cave of Shadows)

Nintendo also gives details about the Hero Mode, which has:

  • double damage
  • no health-replenishing hearts
  • mirror world
  • stackable with the Ganondorf amiibo (x4 damage)

Finally, here’s the latest batch of screenshots for the game, and a new trailer:

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD (Wii U) comes out on March 4th in Europe and North America, and March 10th in Japan.
