Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes – New details revealed

During yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, we finally got some fresh details about Travis Touchdown’s new insane adventure in Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, releasing on Nintendo Switch later this year.

This time, the “gimmick” of the story is that the game actually takes places in a game.. or rather, a game machine. You once again get to play as Travis Touchdown, who travels into video games after getting sucked inside the legendary game machine “Death Drive Mk-II” (brought by Badman, Bad Girl’s father, who came to avenge his daughter), in order to smash bugs… the Software kind!

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes features 7 different “games”:

  • an action game
  • a racing game
  • a puzzle game
  • and more

There’s a boss waiting at the end of each game, and defeating them all allows one to get the legendary Death Bowl, that can (supposedly) grant any wish…

The game features basic attacks but also more powerful moves/skills, with the key lying in combining the two. Of course, Travis uses his trusted beam katana to slash enemies in pieces, and spread chaos and destruction everywhere he goes.

If you don’t feel like playing on your own, you can have a friend join you for some really intense co-op multiplayer action. In that mode, the second players get to play as Badman!

Finally, Nintendo mentioned “Adventure Parts”, featuring 8bit graphics: that’s through those that the story is told, apparently.

Here’s the segment from the Nintendo Direct, as well as some screenshots:
