Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of The Rings Game – Ver. 1.0.5
- Release date: October 7th/8th 2025
- Patch notes:
- If you’ve acquired quite the collection of mathoms, worry not. Your sizeable inventory will be just as easy to peruse as those with fewer things stowed away thanks to a few performance fixes.
- We’re terribly sorry some of your neighbours were still sending disgruntled letters on the very day you planned a nice, shared meal. We’ve had another gentle word about meal etiquette.
- The quantity picker in the Transfer Storage menu will no longer show you disappearing items, if you’ve ever heard of such a thing.
- One can feel a bit flummoxed when you’ve chopped your Chantarelles and they simply remain on your chopping board. Now, they’ll be exactly where they should be, ready to be cooked into something hearty and delicious.
- There was a spot of bother tracking Young Tom’s Trouble quest. This, and other similar quests, are back on track.
- There’s nothing quite like the sound of rain while warm at home. Now, rainfall can be heard more evenly throughout your Hobbit Hole.
- A Hobbit’s name is no small matter. If you need a bit more time deciding if you’re a Smallburrow or a Puddifoot and choose to exit out of the Last Name Selector, fear not. You will still be able to continue on the Hobbit Name screen.
- Upon watching the full introduction, all of the Hobbits of Bywater now successfully appear, arriving in proper fashion for a proper welcome.
- The “?” indicating fish curiosity occasionally went missing. Most curious.
- We’ve smoothed out the animation for casting your line, so you can focus on fish without the fuss.
- Willow’s shop door is now clear of a terribly rude, encroaching hill. All of this is to say you can now easily view her latest wares.
- Those ever-elusive Butterfly Cups are now spawning exactly as they should.
- Fosco’s shop menu will now consistently appear during business hours — excellent news for Hobbits planning a visit to Bywater’s expert tailor.
- RSVPs can be tricky things, especially when you’ve got what feels like half the town coming for tea. To make things easier, we’ve created a brand new button to confirm every guest who’s coming over for a bite and a tale or two.
- Hobbits in Turkey will no longer see strange codeword strings for flavours, or for anything else for that matter!
- We’ve removed a pesky white line above the icon for Willow’s name.
- It took a bit of convincing, but Sandyman’s finally come around and will now properly acknowledge that you’ve done every last task he set, and that he’s handed over all the rewards he promised.
- The ambient soundtrack has been made even smoother, like well churned butter.
- We’ve improved UI navigation during the Garden Beds tutorial, making it easier to learn about those treasured plots for your produce and blooms.
- You’ll enjoy safe passage (without any flying cameras) between the Old Hall and the Ivy Bush.
- It’s easy to keep pressing the Continue and Back buttons during character creation. It’s almost as exciting as cooking one’s favourite meal, after all. Fret not, doing so is now harmless.

Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of The Rings Game – Ver. 1.0.4
- Release date: September 5th/6th 2025
- Patch notes:
- We’ve made some changes to improve saving stability, so that your save files are tucked away safe and sound like a well-packed picnic basket.
- It seemed that the spinach seeds weren’t too fond of being planted. We’ve coaxed them back, so they’re ready to sprout when the time is right.
- A number of Hobbits wrote in with matters of grave concern, becoming blocked from playing after the game began to stutter, then crashed altogether. Not the sort of thing we take lightly in Bywater.
- The volume in handheld mode has been gently lifted, no need to strain your ears wherever you go.
- Good news for Hobbits with an ear for a good song: music now resumes properly after a new day begins.
- Some Hobbits were getting stuck inside their floors after rearranging their bedroom furniture. Worry not, Hobbits can now tidy their room without any unexpected adventures.
- The fishing line tension indicator (quite the mouthful) now visually reacts to said tension, just as it should.
- The Old East Road was always a fine, well-worn path, but we’ve given it a fresh brushing up with improved terrain textures.
- No more interruptions from poorly mannered streaming delays during shared meals.
- Hobbits found they could clip through a slope beside a river near Delphinium’s Tree. Nobody has a want for passing through the earth itself.
- Before an event as full of good food and good cheer as the Bywater Festival, one really just wants to have a good, long nap. Unfortunately, some Hobbits simply found themselves unable to settle in for a pre-festival slumber.
- Some rooms remained stubbornly locked, even after reaching a Level 10 relationship with Willow. Hobbits had knocked and nudged, to no avail.
- A bug was causing Nora and Fosco to not show up to a shared meal. They’re most apologetic, though it’s no fault of their own.
- Orlo was missing some focus target highlighting, though he didn’t seem to notice.
- Fishing is not the relaxing pastime it’s meant to be when your game freezes the first time you reach for your rod. We’ve untangled this issue, so you can get back to catching supper.
