SteamWorld Heist: trailer and details for “The Outsider” DLC, language update

Last week, Image & Form announced that the first DLC for SteamWorld Heist would be released on April 28th, and would be called “The Outsider”. On Monday, in its PR for the weekly Nintendo eShop releases, Nintendo revealed that the DLC would include:
- a new playable character
- new missions
- new weapons
- new gear
- new hats
And today, Image & Form gave even more details for the DLC (which will cost $4.99/€4.99/£4.49), and revealed a trailer and some screenshots for it:
The new character is called Fen, and he’s actually a Vectron outcast: he breaks ties with the hive and joins your jolly party of robots. Image & Form explains that all the new content (including the plot, missions, enemies, end boss) blend seamlessly in the game. Basically, this means that if you have completed the game, you will have to chose an earlier save profile or start from scratch.
Here’s what Brjann Sigurgeirsson (Image & Form CEO) had to say about this new character:
Fen’s got some really fearsome firepower and clever upgrade mechanics that turn kills into own health and massive damage to others. Busting up metal has never been this rewarding!”
As for the language update, it will add:
- new languages (French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Russian)
- expanded inventory (more empty slots from the beginning, and adding some more will cost less)
- more utilities
- more hats
NB: installing the update makes the DLC available in-game, which is where you will purchase it from.
SteamWorld Heist: The Outsider (Nintendo 3DS DLC) will be released tomorrow in Europe and North America.
