SteamWorld Heist: dev update, New 3DS screens, latest Ambassadors

SteamWorld Heist updateDev update

Today, Image & Form didn’t just reveal the winners of the 10th SteamWorld Ambassador (to be found below), they also gave an update regarding the development of the Nintendo 3DS version of SteamWorld Heist (which will be the first one to launch). They revealed that development is almost complete, and that the game will be sent to Nintendo for final approval “fairly soon”.

Right now, the developers are focused on “polishing, bug fixing, balancing, proof-reading and tweaking” the game. It has already received its age ratings everywhere (Europe, Germany, North America, Australia), which is another sign that development is nearing completion. And since they recently got a capture kit from Nintendo, the developers will soon start posting direct-feed gameplay footage!

They promised that more news (including the release date and price) would be revealed soon. In the mean time, here’s two additional screenshots on New Nintendo 3DS:

SteamWorld Ambassador Challenge #10 – Results

SteamWorld Heist comes out later this year on Nintendo 3DS (then later on Wii U), but if you’re interested, you can play the game before everyone else. To do so, you simply have to become a SteamWorld Ambassador. How to become one? Well, it’s quite simple: you just need to win one of Image & Form’s challenges!

The 10th SteamWorld Ambassador Challenge was in fact a photo challenge, and the theme was “SteamWorld in real-life”. Here’s the two winners and their photos:

  • Vix Chan’s cosplay of Rusty from SteamWorld Dig
  • Zilochius Industries’ “The Last Day of an Old Scrapper”

The winners have become a SteamWorld Ambassador, and will get:

– exclusive info before launch;
– download codes for the game (before launch, with additional codes to share with friends).

SteamWorld Heist (3DS eShop) comes out before the end of the year in Europe and North America. The Wii U version will come at a later date.
