Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island – More details and footage
Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island is the 6th mainline entry in the long-running Shiren the Wanderer series, and it comes out later this month in Japan (on January 25th) and next month in Europe and North America (on February 27th).
Ahead of that long-awaited release (it’s the first mainline entry in over 13 years!), Spike-Chunsoft has been sharing various details and pictures for the game on a regular basis. The latest blog post went live yesterday, and details online features, new characters, and more.

The new blog post shares details about the following:
- New Rescue Options: Aid and Rescue Self: allows players to save other players who have collapsed in a dungeon, or to be rescued by others when they themselves have collapsed
- Share Data with Other Players Using Parallel Play: allows players to upload saved data (parallel data) created at any point during a dungeon adventure to the server, enabling other players to continue the challenge
- New character: Kantenbo
- New monsters: Death Reaper, Ghost Radish, and Hat Urchin
