Pokkén Tournament: Darkrai revealed for the Arcade version, trailer and footage

Today, Bandai-Namco showcased the next big update for the Arcade version of Pokkén Tournament, which will be released on July 20th in Japan. As teased last week, a brand new Battle Pokémon was revealed: Darkrai. It’s a Technique Pokémon who can use various techniques and tricks to confuse its opponents. For example, he can create clones of itself, and said clones will also attack.

Here’s the trailer for the major update for the Arcade version of Pokkén Tournament, introducing Darkrai:

If you want to see Darkrai in action, here’s some footage recorded from the livestream:

Darkrai will be added with the next big update for Pokkén Tournament on Arcade, which will be released on July 20th in Japan. The update will add other elements, many of which are already available in the console version of the game. That includes Battle Pokémon (Garchomp, Braixen, and Shadow Mewtwo), but also several stages, new customisation options for your avatar, and more.

But that’s not all: the update will also include new features/elements, such as Mission Panel. In this mode, you have various panels, and each one corresponds to a specific mission. Complete that mission within the time limit, and you can unlock boosts and updates.

Unfortunately, it’s not clear if/when the new content (including Darkrai) will be added to Pokkén Tournament on Wii U.
