Pokkén Tournament
Announced back in August during the Pokémon World Championships 2015, the Wii U version of Pokkén Tournament is finally available in Europe, Japan, and North America. If you’re not quite sure whether you want to buy the game or not, and/or if you want to try it out first, good news: a free demo is now available on the Nintendo eShop in Europe. It requires 1 155.4Mo of free space on your Wii U or external HDD.
The demo can be played 10 times, and only allows you to play a standard match with 2 rounds (after that, you’re booted back to the title screen). The following Pokémon are available:
- Pikachu
- Lucario
- Gengar
- Charizard
- Emolga & Fennekin (Support Pokémon)
- Cubone & Diglett (Support Pokémon)
Thanks Jucksalbe for the details.
Unfortunately, it’s not clear if/when Japan and North America will get this demo. In the mean time, here’s the European launch trailer for the game:
Head after the break for the rest of this post!
Next, we have the fourth tutorial video for the game, which showcases the moves of Mewtwo and Shadow Mewtwo:

Nintendo 3DS Themes
In Japan, a new Nintendo 3DS Themes for Pokémon is available, until April 8th. However, there’s a catch: it cannot be found on the Nintendo 3DS Theme Shop. Instead, players have to go to the following stores to request a free download code: Pokémon Centers, Aeon Malls, Eidon, Ito-Yokado, Toys R Us, Bic Camera, Yodobashi Camera, and Fuji.
Here’s pictures of the Nintendo 3DS Themes, based on Pokémon XY&Z (the current TV anime series) and Pokémon The Movie XY&Z: Volcanion & The Ingenious Magearna:
The download code will have to be redeemed before August 31st.
